Dear Sir / Madam,

A couple of weeks ago you may have received an email to introduce our new website – rhedeg.co.uk

I hope the newsletter found you well and you have since had the opportunity to visit the site and explore some of the great, free content available.

rhedeg.co.uk is a new running website for Wales. We provide a range of content all geared to great running in Wales. In the last week we have started to provide running routes in North Wales, complimenting our existing routes in South and West Wales.

As well as running routes we provide articles on the latest running and sports news as well as great motivational information. On top of this, rhedeg.co.uk hosts a great Welsh race finder. If your club hosts a race then we may have already listed it! The race finder is free and we would love to hear from you to make it even better.

As a Welsh running club I would love to gain your support in the development and promotion of rhedeg.co.uk. If you have any feedback or ideas on how we can improve then I would love to hear from you. You can send me an email direct and please make sure to connect with us on your social network of choice.

I very much look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime please take the time to recommend rhedeg to the runners in your club.

Ben Nevis News

A healthy looking Eryri crowd marched up North for the annual running up the UK’s highest peak, Ben Nevis.

Of the 473 finishers, Rich Roberts was first Eryri runner home in 19th in 1.49 but more importantly the first ‘ambulance service’ runner, soon after came Eglwysbach’s Adrian Williams, finishing in 71st in 2hrs. Llion Iwan was next Eryri finisher in 233rd in a time of 2.26. David Prytherch ran well to finish in 2.37 in 296th, in 374th and a time of 2.51 came Ian Blakemore with the evergreen Brian Robbins finishing in 455th in 3.16.

Pete Douglas RIP

Pete Douglas

It is with great regret that I have to announce the sad passing of Peter Douglas.

Pete was a fantastic volunteer photographer and marshal and will be greatly missed by countless people in the world of athletics, but mainly for those involved in fellrunning, to which he contributed all of his spare time for the benefit of others, with nothing expected in return.

At this years club presentation night Pete was made a lifetime honorary member of Eryri for his services to fellrunning.

Further details will be posted here in due course.

3/9/13 Update –

Many of you have been enquiring about Pete’s funeral.  The answer is that at Pete’s request there won’t a public funeral to attend.  There is however an intention to arrange something to celebrate Pete’s life.  Details will be posted here and other places once this has been decided.
