BORDERS ROAD RUNNING LEAGUE
RACE 3 PENSARN (ABERGELE HARRIERS)
9 Eryri Harriers completed the 3rd race of the Borders Road Running League at Pensarn, nr Abergele on Sunday 2nd February.
Following all the wind and rain that we have experienced lately, the 272 runners were greeted with sunshine, and but for slight wind, very pleasant running conditions for the fast 5mile out and back course along the sea front. Making his debut for Eryri in the League, Nathan Jones led until the last 2k when he was overtaken by Deeside’s Steve Boynton who held on to win in a time of 25:46 with Nathan close behind in 25:51, with Boynton’s team colleagues; Ricky Challinor 26:01 and Lee Jones (MV/40) 26:13 3rd and 4th respectively.
Eryri’s Mr Consistency, Brendan Rothery had another very good run to finish 6th in a time of 26:54. Also making his debut for Eryri in the League as a 2nd claim member was Menai T&F’s James Kirkwood who ran well to finish 52nd in a time of 30:25 followed by: 76th Gary Porter-Jones 31:55. 78th and another making his club debut in the League, Ali Chant 32:03. 96th Dilwyn Rowlands 32:38. 139th and back after a long injury absence, Ashley Wager 35:14. 238th Allison Donnelly 41:57 and 268th the ever reliable Iorwerth Roberts 47:53.
Unfortunately, Arwel Lewis did not even make the start line due to a back spasm during his warm up!!
