Moel Eilio Race Report – Saturday 23rd of May 2015.

‘Warm weather brings over a hundred runners to one of the most important fell runs of the season!’

Funny how a year changes things? This time last year the race had strong gusts of wind, rain & hail stones at one point! This year dry & warm weather which certainly helped to raise the number to one hundred and seven runners.

For those uninitiated it’s important to note that this race not only goes up Moel Eilio, the runners have to subsequently carry on to Foel Gron, Foel Goch and Moel Cynghorion before they descend a very steep slope & go through a river before the final path back to Llanberis. A challenge even for an experienced fell runner.

1st overall male was Gareth Hughes in a time of 1:08.

Male V40 went to Dyfed Whiteside Thomas (Eryri Harriers) in a time of 1:11:21. V50 went to Noel Craine in a time of 1:18:33, male V60 went to Derek Weaver (Eryri Harriers) in a time of 1:24:18 and male V70 went to John Morris (Buckley Runners) in a time of 1.43.52.

1st female & V40 was Lauren Jessica (Eryri Harriers) in a time of 1:19:07.
