Moelwyn Fell Race Report

Ras y Moelwyn – 8.5mile fell race, held in Blaenau Ffestiniog on Saturday the 16th of April.

Great weather conditions & a great atmosphere for the 76 fell runners.

The nature of route which included exceptionally varied terrain – hard packed slate, bog, steep climbs & narrow rocky descents meant that a lot of jostling for positions occurred during this very exciting race.

Male V50 & fifth position overall went to Dafydd Roberts of Rhedwyr Hebog in a time of 1:30:37 & male V60 went to Mike Blake of Eryri Harriers in a time of 2:11:23.

1st overall female was Sian Williams of Rhedwyr Hebog in a time of 1:40:04.  Second place & first Eryri club member was Ruth Metcalfe who was also first female V40 in a time of 1:55:30.  Female V50 went to Ali Thomas again of Eryri Harriers in a time of 2:08:07.

Junior Races: Under 12 Lewis William Evans, Under 14 Gethin Davies, Under 16 Aron Jones.
