RAS 30K PEDWRA LLYN/4 LAKES 30K RACE REPORT

In glorious sunny weather with very little wind 35 runners set off on the scenic 4 Lakes race route encompassing the Snowdonia National Park, Eryri’s Dewi Owen made his intentions clear from the start as he led from start to finish despite the initial close intentions of Menai T&F athlete Shane Williams, Dewi was able to maintain a narrow lead to begin with before pulling away in the 2nd half of the race to win by a clear margin in a time of 2:05:42 with Shane runner-up 2:08:24 and 3rd Mark Davies (NWRRC) 2:09:03.
Even more impressive was the first female finisher in 7th place overall was Eryri’s Miranda Grant who finished in a time of 2:16:51, just 35 seconds off the women’s course record! Also running very well was the 2nd female finisher, Jennifer Charlton (Eryri Harriers- FV/40) with a time of 2:25:39 and 3rd female Emma Collins (Denbigh Harriers – FV/50) 2:30:58.
Thank You to Mountain Rangers Sports & Social Club for hosting the event once again, St John Ambulance for their medical support and everyone who helped out with marshalling duties on the day.

Week-end of Runing in Snowdonia

Winners of the recent ‘Triple’ – Week-end of Runing in Snowdonia (Elidir, Gladstone 9 & Caernarfon 10K) were Gary Porter Jones & Emily Wood, who had the fastest M & F combined times. V well done to both!  They will each be receiving one of the new Eryri Harriers Cycling tops, which will be available for purchase @ £32 from the ‘shop’ tab as soon as they have arrived.

Dash in the Dark Series

It’s that time of year again to prepare for the Dash in the Dark series of night time, off road running races held at Llandegla Forest.

Dig your head torches out and come along to join us for what is always an enjoyable, social evening with refreshments provided by the staff of the One Planet Adventure Mountain bike centre.

Please find attached an updated poster but essentially the dates are as follows:

Friday 11th November 2016

Friday 9th December 2016

Friday 13th January 2017

6pm registration for a 7pm start, please arrive early to avoid a last minute rush. £4 on the night only and please remind yourselves of the kit required. Waterproof / Windproof top, hat, gloves and a torch, ideally a head torch with at least 2hrs good lighting. Fell / trail shoes advised, road trainers are not acceptable.

Nant BH Celebration Junior Trail Races

Quick message to let you know that there will be some kids trail races at Nant BH OEC on Sat 8th October as part of our 50th anniversary celebration day . The categories will
Be :
Under 6 ( no permit – run with a parent)
Under 8
Under 10
Under 12
Under 14
Under 16

Registration will be from 10:30-11:30 and races will start from 12noon .
Races are FREE to enter & there’ll be some prizes / goody bags for each category .

It will be busy here on the day as there are other bike events & activities running alongside . There’s a Hog Roast and food available to purchase .

Updates will appear shortly on Nant BH 50th anniversary Facebook page .
