Very sad to hear about the sudden death of Emrys Jones (Cybi Striders) after a short illness aged 58. The club sends its sincere condolences to his family and many friends. Ems was very well respected and liked on the running circuit and will be very sadly missed by all who knew him.
His funeral is on Saturday 28th January, a public service at St Cyngar’s Church Llangefni at 11:30am. Donations in memory of Ems will be kindly accepted towards Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Alaw Ward and Macmillian.
ANOTHER BORDER LEAGUE LOW FOR ERYRI!
There were 371 finishers in the 4th fixture in the Borders Road Running League tough 4.4 mile race at Connahs Quay on Sunday 22nd January with only the three Eryri Harriers competing! 105th & 1st MV/60 Derek Weaver 28:04. 123rd & 3rd MV/55 Arwel Lewis 28:41 & 171st Ashley Wager 30:21. The next Borders Road Running League race is at Helsby on Sunday 5th March. 11am Start.
On a bitterly cold day and running into a very strong headwind from Llandudno to Colwyn Bay on Saturday 21st January it was no wonder that everyone’s race times were well down on what the competitors expected or hoped for! Of the 420 finishers, there were 12 Eryri Harriers competing led home by 15th placed Adrian Williams in a time of 38:48 followed by 16th placed Paul Jones 39:23. The first and only female Eryri finisher in 147th place was Lucy O’Donnell in 49:10.
Further details – come and join in on Saturday 28th January!
