NWXC league – final fixture results

Women’s teams win the league with the men in 4th!

Well it’s the end of the North Wales Cross Country League 2016-17 – it was such fun and great to get in some good hard running over the winter, thanks everyone!

Really well done to ALL who supported the club and the XC teams this season across the 5 fixtures, you have all made such a valuable contribution, whether it is running, supporting, driving, taking photos, ‘baby’sitting, marshalling, helping, baking cakes! Full report to follow but here’s a run down of today at Oswestry XC…full results will be posted here: http://www.northwalesxc.com/seniorsresults.htm

15 Eryri Harriers jumped the fence, ploughed through the bog, sped along the grassy sections and climbed up the hill in the far field – huge well done to Richard Roberts, Russell Owen, Arwel Lewis, Steffan Rhys Evans, James Harwood, Eurwyn Edwards and Steve Jones in the men’s race and Andrea Rowlands, Annabelle McQueen, Tammy Ddrwg Lewis-Jones, Helen Blair, Becki Law, Megan Hughes, Ellie Salisbury and Maggie Oliver.

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to both ladies teams (seniors and vets) for retaining the title again this year – you have all made such an effort and ran your socks off, very, VERY well deserved! Andrea Rowlands was also a fantastic second overall in the league and second in the V40 category, Tammy Lewis-Jones who was an amazing 1st in the V45 category, Ellie Salisbury was a brilliant 2nd V55 and Maggie Oliver was 3rd over 65 too – fantastic running all season ladies!

HUGE WELL DONE also to the men’s teams who all have also put in massive efforts to run hard, represent the club and keep the team going! Overall results to follow, but looking like 4th position for both teams, with fantastic individual results for Russel Owen and Arwel Lewis who were a fantastic 1st and 2nd V55 overall across the league. Really well done to all of you, you are all brilliant!

It is important to note that all of the results above are overall, across the whole season and represent a continued strong commitment, which is great to see! Bring on next year….get it in the diary (dates out in April), IT’S A GREAT FOCUS FOR OCTOBER – FEBRUARY/MARCH and ALL WELCOME to join the team. Becki Law: bex85@msn.com
