Eryri’s Anglesey based Brendan Rothery won the 5th fixture of the Borders Road Running League at The Anglesey Circuit, Ty Croes on Sunday 3rd February organised by Cybi Striders. In the first ever Border League race organised on the island of Anglesey, Brendan produced a gutsy run from the front to win the 5 mile race which involved a small loop followed by two large laps of the motor racing circuit run in cloudy but dry and breezy conditions.

This was Brendan’s 2nd race win of the season in a time of 26.12 ahead of Deeside athlete, Lee Jones 26.30.  On the day, Eryri’s men produced their best result of the season so far finishing 3rd team overall with: 4th Chris Evans 27.05; 5th Daniel Kashi 27.13; 14th Arthur Connell 28.15; 43rd Rhys James 30.30; 55th Arwel Lewis 31.00; 74th Phil Targett 32.23; 84th Dylan Owen 33.15. 97th Richard Owen 33.56. 187th Martin Williams 41.41. 194th Kalvin Jones 43.37 and 196th Iorwerth Roberts 45.17.

In all there were 202 finishers. Eryri’s team total was enough to move them off the bottom of the 1st Division, 1,200pts ahead of Tattenhall with two races to go.
The next race is at Mold on Wednesday 10th April (7:15pm Start).  It will be a landmark race for Eryri as it will be their 100th race in the league since joining in 1998.
