Sunday 4th December 2017 at
Llanberis  – 9.30 a.m.- 10.30 a.m. meet at the fire station
Maes Padarn, LL55 4TP
£2 per child
We are getting together with the Eryri Harrier junior training session on the Sunday morning to give a monthly orienteering / map reading session.
The session will be for 1 hour – with fun games and exercises to introduce simple map reading and navigation.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay, if you are new to orienteering as a family it is an opportunity to learn together. Navigation is a brilliant skill to learn and teach your children.
Come along and give it a try.

Eryri Night Navs 2016-17

Some of you have been eagerly awaiting the Eryri Orienteers Winter Night Nav Series, and attached here are the fixtures list, starting on Thurs 3rd November, at Bethesda.  6.45pm from the Douglas Arms.

Each event lasts 1 hour only and can be undertaken by singles, pairs, or even teams.  They are an excellent winter training session, involving speed training, and improve your navigation sense along the way.  No experience necessary.

You’ll get an excellent workout, usually involving some hill work, and exercise your brain too.  They all start and finish at a pub, so they’re also a great social gathering.

It’s for all ages, juniors included, and they can run with seniors.  The fastest runner doesn’t always win!

Bike Style Tops

It has been suggested that we should make available to purchase some bike style tops. You know the ones with the short zip, pockets at the back and sleeves. A lot of runners also bike so we thought it was a good opportunity to have some more Eryri kit! On a practical level it has been suggested that the pockets are ideal for kit when running (saves using a bumbag) and also ideal for those autumn day runs when a vest is a bit skimpy but any more clothing and you’ll boil!

Please could you let a member of the committee know if you might be interested in one (I have already told myself!) and we’ll crack on getting some ordered. Designs/styles are being looked into at the moment so let us know and we’ll get them sorted.

UKA Fell Relay Championships

This year the Relay Champs are on Saturday 15th October in Scotland. The venue is just north of Glasgow in the Loch Lomond region. We are looking to send at the very least 3 teams (Open Men, Vet Men & Open Women). If we can get enough runners then I am sure the club will be more than happy to send more teams! In all likelihood there will be some who travel Friday night and some who go up on the Saturday. To give us a chance of getting things organised can you please let me or Jenks know if you’d like to be involved. Please don’t wait to be asked!! We will more than likely try and ask everyone at some point but the sooner we have this sorted the more we can plan. Any questions just give us a shout.
