Alun’s Hat-trick of wins!

20/03: Alun Vaughan made it a Hat-Trick of successive race wins with victory in the 5th race of the Borders Road Running League at Tattenhall. In the tough, undulating 6.1mile event, Alun recorded his 11th B/L victory out of 13 finishes in a time of 32:09. 1st U/20 was Eryri’s Owen Roberts in 5th place overall in a time of 33:49. Next in for Eryri was: 98th Arwel Lewis 41:00. 215th (1st MV/70) Don Williams 49:02. 270th Roy Jardine 61:26 and 272nd Kalvin Jones (Who took a slight detour somewhere!) 67:37. Disappointingly, Eryri only had the six men competing instead of the required seven accumulating another 300 point penalty! Eryri’s women fared much better with the improving Lizzie Irvine finishing 71st overall and 3rdfemale in a time of 39:27 followed by: 148th Helen Blair 43:35 and 252nd Alison Donnelly 54:16. In the overall standings with two races to go: Don Williams leads the MV/70 table while Lizzie Irvine lies 3rd in the senior women’s category. Our women’s team look well on course to win the improvers trophy providing they turn up for the next two events at Mold and Prestatyn!
