ROAD NEWS
Three Eryri Harriers completed the Ribble Valley 10km race on Sunday 30th December where the conditions were not ideally suited for fast times with the 1075 runners having to contend with bitterly cold, wet and windy conditions, still Rob Samuel made light of the weather to set a new personal best for the distance by just two seconds with a time of 30:21 for 8th place overall and not far off the race winner David Bishop (Bristol & West) 30.02, in what was a high quality race line up.

Arwel Lewis competing in his 58th race of the year! and despite suffering with a painful right foot injury (Morton’s neuroma) was happy enough with a time of 39.27 just ahead of Siobhan Evans 39.33.
Menai Track & Field’s Jim Woodcock ran very well to win the Male Vet/60 category with a time of 38.56.

Still struggling with my foot problem which is more serious than I first thought and hoped! I had already entered the Ribble Valley race before the foot problem flared up and though I have hardly run since mid December, I thought why not as resting has not cleared up the problem. Looks as if I am going to have to run it off!

All the best and here’s to a Very Happy New Year to you All.

Arwel.

Road Secretary.
