Runners Wanted & Reserve Runners for Eryri Team!

Welsh Castles Relay 4-5 June 2016 – a world famous relay race from Caernarfon Castle to Cardiff Castle.

Background

The Welsh Castles Relay is a world famous relay race from Caernarfon Castle to Cardiff Castle. The route is split into 20 stages with 65 teams fielding one runner on each stage. If you want to find out more, including the stages and route visit http://www.welshcastlesrelay.org.uk/.

Running cut-off times
• Each stage is between 8 and 13 miles long.
• There are some mountain stages which are particularly undulating, but all stages have an element of uphill and downhill sections.
• The race organisers have made a slight change to the cut off time this year. They ask that all runners on hilly/mountain stages are capable of maintaining 9 minute / miles.

Please contact either Sioned Rowlands (sionedrowlands@tiscali.co.uk) or/and Dyfed Whiteside Thomas (Dyfed@celtest.com) before 19 May 2016 if you would like to take part or support the team.

I must say, i really enjoyed taking part in the Castles Relay some years ago.
I see the club is looking for competitors or reserve runners for this years event.
Thankfully i rejoined the club as a full member this year, so would love to take part in the event once again.

I rather fancy Leg 5, Harlech to Barmouth, unless its already taken.

Please contact me by either phone, 01492 860975 or email, welshdrover@gmail.com.

If leg 5 is already taken, i do not mind which leg i do, and am prepared to get to the required location along the route under my own steam.

All the best and get in touch

    Peter Lewis
