Pob Math o Lwyddiannau / All Types of Success!

(Scroll down for English)

Mae wedi bod yn wythnos arbennig o brysur a llwyddiannus i Eryri Harriers, gyda’r aelodau’n cynrychioli’r clwb mewn digwyddiadau mawr ac yn parhau i gefnogi’r genhedlaeth nesaf o redwyr yn agosach at adref.

Llongyfarchiadau mawr i’r pum Harrier a gymerodd ran yn y TCS London Marathon ar 26 Ebrill. Da iawn i Nic Brook, Gemma Moore (a lwyddodd i osod record bersonol arall), Elliw Haf (mor agos at PB), Owain Hughes, a Nia a Dafydd Gwynn, a redodd gyda’i gilydd. Sôn arbennig hefyd am Julia Jones, a redodd i godi ymwybyddiaeth ac arian i WWF—ymdrech wirioneddol ysbrydoledig ar lwyfan byd-eang. Gyda’r awyrgylch trydanol a’r cyffro o weld perfformiadau elît yn gwthio’r ffiniau, roedd yn ddiwrnod cofiadwy iawn.

Yn nes at adref, roedd Ras Iau Moel Wnion yn ddiwrnod gwych o rediad mynydd. Fel rhan o Gyfres Iau Gogledd Cymru WFRA, gwelwyd 38 o redwyr ifanc yn cystadlu mewn tywydd anarferol o gynnes a thawel. Arweiniodd y tir sych at ganlyniad arbennig, gyda phob un o’r categorïau iau yn gosod recordiau cwrs newydd—tystiolaeth glir o’r dalent gyffrous sy’n datblygu. Er i’r grwpiau hŷn wynebu’r gwres dros y pedair copa, roedd y diwrnod yn llawn perfformiadau cryf, ysbryd chwarae teg, a digon o wenu (a rhai iâ-pops yn toddi ar y llinell derfyn!). Diolch yn fawr i’r holl farshaliaid, trefnwyr a gwirfoddolwyr a wnaeth y digwyddiad yn bosibl.

Ymhellach i ffwrdd, cymerodd un o’n haelodau ran yn y Yorkshire Three Peaks Race heriol iawn, gyda dros 1,000 ar y llinell gychwyn ond dim ond 567 yn gorffen. Er gwaethaf y gwres a chramp o 25km ymlaen, dangoswyd penderfyniad gwych i orffen yn 316eg. Yn bwysig, roedd hyn yn nodi dychweliad cryf i rasio ar ôl anaf - ond nawr mae a mwy o rasys ar y gorwel.

Mae’n ysbrydoledig gweld ystod eang o lwyddiannau ar draws y clwb—o redwyr iau yn cymryd eu camau cyntaf mewn cystadlu i aelodau’n herio marathonau byd-enwog a rasys dygnwch eithafol.

Peidiwch ag anghofio rhannu eich rasys, canlyniadau a straeon—mae’r clwb yn dathlu pob un ohonoch.

It’s been a fantastic and action-packed week for Eryri Harriers, with members representing the club across some major events and continuing to support the next generation of runners closer to home.

A huge congratulations goes out to the five Harriers who took on the iconic TCS London Marathon on 26th April. Well done to Nic Brook, Gemma Moore (who secured another personal best), Elliw Haf (just shy of a PB), Owain Hughes, and Nia and Dafydd Gwynn, who completed the course together. A special mention also to Julia Jones, who ran to raise awareness and funds for WWF—an inspiring effort on such a global stage. With the electric atmosphere and even the buzz around elite performances pushing boundaries, it was a memorable day to be part of.

Closer to home, the Moel Wnion Junior Race delivered a brilliant day of fell running. As part of the WFRA North Wales Junior Series, the event saw 38 young runners take on the course in unusually warm and calm conditions. The dry ground led to an incredible outcome, with all younger age categories setting new course records—clear evidence of the exciting talent coming through. While the older runners battled the heat over the four summits, the day was filled with great performances, sportsmanship, and plenty of smiles (along with a few melting ice pops at the finish line). A big thank you goes to all the marshals, organisers, and volunteers who made the event possible.

Further afield, one of our members took on the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks Race, facing tough conditions with over 1,000 starters but only 567 finishers. Battling heat and cramp from 25km, they showed real determination to finish 316th. Importantly, this marked a strong return to racing following an injury - and now there will be more races already on the horizon.

As always, it’s inspiring to see the range of achievements across the club—from junior racers taking their first steps in competition to members tackling world-class marathons and brutal endurance challenges.

Don’t forget to keep sharing your races, results, and stories—big or small. This club celebrates every single one.
